The MSc in Political Science is also offered in the evening hours at Campus The Hague/Leiden University for professionals who possess considerable working experience in a relevant field and thus combine their studies with their job. The Master of Science in Political Science is designed to satisfy students’ desire to understand politics in an ever more internationalised world. The programme provides an overview of the state of the art in political science, while allowing students freedom to tailor the programme to their personal interests.
Onderzoek/PhD
Als één van de grootste departementen in Europa beslaat het Departement Politieke Wetenschap in Leiden een breed scala aan onderzoeksvelden, waaronder politieke filosofie, politiek gedrag en communicatie, vergelijkende politiek, nationale politiek en internationale politiek en diplomatie. Het centrale thema van het onderzoeksprogramma is ‘The Institutions of Politics: Design, Workings, and Implications’.
Masterstudenten kunnen een belangrijke rol spelen in het departement, door bijvoorbeeld mee te werken in projecten van docenten en hoogleraren. Zulke activiteiten hebben reeds geleid tot een groot aantal gezamelijke publicaties in de afgelopen jaren.
De kwaliteit van het onderwijs en onderzoek aan het departement wordt op constante basis geëvalueerd door zowel interne als externe kwaliteitscontrole.
