As of September 2011 the Philosophy of Social Sciences specialisation will be replaced with Philosophy of Political Science.
The Philosophy of Political Science specialisation aims at philosophical reflection on the (foundations of the) Political and Administrative sciences as well as their application. This reflection is rooted in two types of concerns.
Entry requirements
- BA degree in Philosophy of a Specific Discipline from a recognised university, a BA degree in the chosen discipline and a completed pre-master’s in philosophy, or a BA degree combining philosophy and the chosen discipline from a recognised university.
- Applicants are requested to enclose a writing sample. The text should be written in English, focus on a philosophical subject, and preferably consist of no more that 2000 words.
- Proof of sufficient proficiency in English: IELTS test level of at least 6.5 or TOEFL score of at least 570/230/88-90, evidenced by an appropriate test.
This requirement does not apply if you have:- completed your education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia, or
- an International Baccalaureate, or
- a Dutch VWO-diploma

Applicants with a higher professional education (HBO) degree are not eligible for admission.
