The Philosophy of Medical Sciences specialisation focuses on a broad range of questions: both social and ethical questions within the medical profession and issues that are related to the philosophy of science. More information will be available shortly.
With effect from September 2012, students who complete this specialisation will be awarded an MA in Philosophy.
The Leiden Institute for Philosophy offers a combination of continental and analytical philosophy, which is an attractive feature for students searching for a confrontation of different types of philosophical method. The specialist courses in philosophy of medicine can in some instances be adapted to the student’s personal interests and may be offered as a series of individual tutorial sessions.
