The focus of Leiden Palaeolithic Archaeology is on the archaeology of the Neanderthals. There are three main strands to our research of Neandertal behaviour, all of which will be covered in the master’s programme.
Entry requirements
- BA degree (or equivalent) in Archaeology or relevant discipline. Additional specific requirements may apply per specialisation area: contact the study advisor for more information.
- For international students: proof of English Proficiency IELTS 6.5 or TOEFL 570/230/88-90 evidenced by an apprioriate test
The English proficiency requirement does not apply if you have:
- completed your education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia, or
- an International Baccalaureate.
Students with a higher professional education (HBO) diploma in Archaeology from Saxxion Next in Deventer who followed the pre-master’s programme can be admitted to the master’s programme.
