The one-year MA in Islamic Studies provides you with an introduction to the various theoretical and methodological approaches to historical and current forms of Islam. The focus of this programme is on ‘Islam and Society’, with special emphasis on the comparative study of Muslim society. It aims to respond to the growing demand for internationally oriented programmes that provide thorough training in the methodology of Islamic Studies.

Career
As a graduate of the MA in Islamic Studies, you will be qualified to move into an academic career, possibly to follow a PhD programme. Alternatively, you will be qualified to work in marketing functions within internationally operating companies, or with specific commercial enterprises that have links with the Islamic world.
Alumni have also chosen career paths within the diplomatic service, or have found policy-making positions at ministries, in refugee aid, or in the Immigration and Naturalisation Service. A career in the education sector is also an option.
