Would you like to be involved in this new and rapidly developing sub-discipline of psychology? Health Psychology can be described as:

“the aggregate of the specific educational, scientific and professional contributions of the discipline of psychology to the promotion and maintenance of health, the prevention and treatment of illness, the identification of etiological and diagnostic correlates of health and illness and related dysfunction, and the analysis and improvement of the health care system and health policy” (Matarazzo, 1982).

Programme

The specialisation consists of coursework, an internship and a master’s thesis.

Requirements for post-graduate clinical training
Master’s students Clinical Psychology in Leiden qualify for the post-master’s clinical training programmes depending on their choices in the Bachelor’s and Master’s programme. They need to follow an extended clinical internship and acquire the Beroepsaantekening Psychodiagnostiek (BAPD). Furthermore, there are some Bachelor electives besides the general Master curriculum courses required for entrance to post-master’s professional programmes. If not already completed these electives can be taken besides the general master curriculum.
