It is fairly unique that in the literature lectures all periods of French literature are covered. The monodisciplinary character of the programme guarantees that you will acquire a high level of specific knowledge of the French language, literature and culture.
Entry requirements
- BA degree or its equivalent in French Language and Culture
- A thorough proficiency in French (CEFR; listening: C1; reading: C1; oral interaction: B2; oral production: B2; writing: B2)
- Proof of sufficient proficiency in English: IELTS test level of at least 6.5 or TOEFL score of at least 570/230/88-90, evidenced by an appropriate test.
This requirement does not apply if you have:- completed your education in Canada, USA, UK, Ireland, New Zealand or Australia, or
- an International Baccalaureate, or
- a Dutch VWO diploma
Students who have a BA in French Language and Culture from Leiden University do not have to apply for admission.
