The European Governance specialisation is designed to provide students with comprehensive knowledge of the key theoretical and empirical issues related to governance in Europe. The central focus of most courses is the European Union, with particular attention to the impact of the EU as a set of governance structures beyond the nation-state. The seminars of this track concentrate on multilevel governance in the EU, EU institutions and decision-making, and policy implementation in diverse policy areas.

Programme

  • Every student of Public Adminstration takes five core courses (25 ECTS). Those courses constitute a firm base on which the specialisation builds further.
  • In addition to these core courses students take three specialisation courses (15 ECTS).
  • Students conduct original research on a topic of their choice within their track and present their results in a thesis (20 ECTS).
