The Master’s specialisation in Educational Studies deals with the developmental learning processes of children and adolescents in regular education, covering both unproblematic development and issues which might arise. In addition, the programme also covers individual differences within this group.
Research/PhD
Research in the Master’s programme
All master’s courses are connected to state-of-the-art research in the department. Your master’s research and thesis can be directly connected to research projects in our Department. In such cases, you will receive supervision from a researcher with direct expertise in the topic. This has two advantages: (1) through your research you contribute to the research project as a whole and (2) you benefit from the supervisor’s knowledge on the research subject.
Do you want to continue conducting research?
After graduation you are qualified to to pursue a in the social sciences. At the University of Leiden, for example, you may apply to available PhD positions in Onderwijsstudies. As a PhD candidate, you will receive a thorough research training; you can acquire educational experience and possibly obtain your BKO-registration.
