If you are sinologist with an interest in business management, or a business student aspiring to learn more about the Chinese economy and business culture, the specialisation Chinese Economy and Business may be your bridge to the future.
China’s economy is dominating the headlines as the world’s most dynamic economy and the world’s largest recipient of FDI. At the same time, Chinese companies are arriving in Europe to float their firms on European stock exchanges, and to buy European companies. Graduates are needed who combine sound business management skills with a thorough knowledge of the Chinese economy, business sector and culture. The MSc programme Chinese Economy and Business is designed to meet this demand.
Yi Ran Xu “People in my class are from different countries, but two things have bonded us: the ambition and the curiosity towards China.”
“I was born in China and came to The Netherlands when I was 13 years old. Growing up between a western and eastern culture has broadened my view towards the world. This is the reason why I know I want to become an international intermediary between Asia and Europe. To make my dream come true I have chosen the master programme Chinese Business & Economy.
From day one, I have enjoyed everyday with our CHEB group. People in my class are from different countries with diverse study backgrounds, but two things have bonded us and that is the ambition and the curiosity towards China. I was surprised that I was not the only one who knows China. Contrary to my expectation, many of my fellow students have real life experience in China; I was surprised by their talent and motivation. This has pushed me to work even harder and to make the best out of my study. Nevertheless, when the hard work is over, nothing stops us from gathering around and to have a drink or Chinese dinner together.
Currently, one thing that my class mates and I are so excited about is the three months internship in China; we can not wait to head for Shanghai. To prepare for this trip we have initiated Chinese Lunch to help fellow students to practice speaking Chinese together. The objectives for this trip are to gain in-depth real business experiences and write our theses in China, but I am sure as a group we will also have a lot of fun together. I am looking forward to spending time in China with my fellow students and in the end I will not only receive a master diploma but besides that, an unforgettable experience with my class mates.”
