This track offers the opportunity to combine training in chemistry research with training in business and entrepreneurship. It enables science students to understand the fundamentals of business management and innovation. The emphasis is on science-driven organisations and on establishing new business based on the outcomes of scientific research.
Career
The SBB programme is geared towards pursuing future career opportunities, both in academia and in industry. About 40% of former SBB students have gone on to do a PhD, while most of the remainder have employment in industry as consultant or in a managerial position. The Master of Science programme guarantees thorough research training founded on a sound theoretical basis. Master of Science students in Leiden work in an environment with many internationally renowned researchers and can operate on the international market.
All students with a Master of Science degree are admissible to a PhD programme.
