The MSc track Chemistry and Education prepares students for a career in teaching Chemistry. This programme is adequate to obtain a teaching qualification needed for teaching at all levels in Dutch high schools (the so-called eerstegraads lesbevoegdheid).
Career
The Master’s specialisation in Chemistry and Education prepares students for a career in teaching high school chemistry. Successful completion of this programme qualifies one to teach in the Dutch high school system (in other words, successful completion leads to the so-called eerstegraads lesbevoegdheid – the Dutch High School Teaching Certificate). The Master of Science programme guarantees thorough research training founded on a sound theoretical basis. Master of Science students in Leiden work in an environment with many internationally renowned researchers and can operate on the international market.
All students with a Master of Science degree are admissible to a PhD programme.
