Applied Mathematics is the research specialisation aimed at students who wish to become thoroughly acquainted with mathematics as it is applied in various aspects of the life sciences. The specialisation focuses on both computational and fundamental aspects of analysis and probability.
Career
The Master’s specialisation in Applied Mathematics is an ideal basis for becoming a mathematical researcher within an (international) industrial environment, such as in Akzo-Nobel, Shell, Philips or TNO. Our graduates find jobs as well in government related advisory counsils, in communication and information technology, and logistics. The Applied Mathematics specialisation also serves as an excellent preparation for a career in academia, starting for example with one of our PhD programmes.
