The programme, composed of the modules Russian Culture, Politics, Economics and History, has a degree of in-built flexibility. You can exchange any single module for a module of your choosing outside the department. Examples of possible exchange courses include:

- History
- Political science
- International economics.
At the end of the programme you will produce a thesis based on your original research work. You will be supervised throughout by a member of academic staff specialised in your specific field of research. Before you begin, you will receive expert tuition through a seminar on thesis writing. This will give you the opportunity to present your preliminary results, to raise questions or to discuss methodological issues regarding your research.
