Division of Drug Delivery Technology uses NanoSight Characterization System
The research group of Professor Wim Jiskoot of the Division of Drug Delivery Technology of the Leiden/Amsterdam Center for Drug Research examines the causes of unwanted immunogenicity of therapeutic proteins. They develop analytical methods to find a relationship between aggregation and immunogenicity of human / humanized proteins. Using the LM20 Nano Sight system, they can accurately determine the size distribution of nano-sized protein aggregates.
An example of the work from Leiden is illustrated here. These results show insulin aggregates formed by metal oxidation.
