LExS scholarships make the impossible possible

Elias Ghiliu Mehari from Eritrea dreams of becoming the first ethnobotanist in his country. After five years of persistently applying for scholarships and preparing for life in the Netherlands, he was awarded the highest level of Leiden University LExS scholarship (platinum) to pursue his dream. “I feel a great responsibility to do my best, and have so much to be grateful for. I feel indebted to this country for helping me realize my dream.”
