Leiden LLM Student wins prestigious air law prize
Katja Brecke (Adv. LLM Air and Space Law) compared rules for slot allocation (arrival and departure scheetjes at airports) and held them against the light of International regulations. She won the first prize in a competition organised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA).
The prize consists of a trip to Vancouver, Canada, where the winner was announced Monday February 14th, in the presence of 300 air lawyers, mostly from airlines.
Recent International air law prizes
With this prize, Leiden has won all recent international air law prizes: best applicant memorialen, best respondent memorialen and winner of the International Air Law Moot Court (New Delhi, March 3-6, 2010), and the first three prizes in a competition for the best thesis, organized by the European Air Law Association (EALA; Vienna, November 5, 2010).
